Excelsior raises tobacco sales age to 21 and restricts access near schools

The Excelsior City Council voted Oct. 1 to raise the tobacco and tobacco-related products sale age from 18 to 21 and not allow the sale of such products within 500 feet of an elementary, middle or high school.

“I think it’s the right decision for the public health of our youth,” Councilmember Jennifer Caron said.
