Open Systems International (OSI) is getting ready to expand its business campus, located at company headquarters at 4101 Arrowhead Drive in Medina.
The software company currently employs 433 people and has clients in the electricity, oil and gas, transportation and water industries. OSI is planning to hire an additional 100 employees, mostly professionals and engineers, in the beginning, according to Ron Ingram, an owner of OSI. Over the next few years the company would hire more staff.
Before OSI can break ground for the expansion, the company needs a number of approvals from the city of Medina. The City Council, at its Tuesday, Sept. 18 meeting, directed city staff to draft a resolution approving rezoning of one of OSI’s lots from Mixed Use to Business. The council tabled OSI’s requests for approval of the preliminary plat and site plan in order to give the company time to refine project plans.
