After the storm clouds passed and the skies opened on a recent day over Medicine Lake, the race was on schedule for the Flying Scot Fleet #140.
On the club’s dock, adjacent to the French Regional Park beach, Mike Misk, the club’s president and commodore, set up his sails aboard his Flying Scot, Deja Blew.
Chartered in 1974, the Medicine Lake Sailing Club has about 50 members and attracts an average of six skippers and their crew on any given race day.
While a variety of ages and skill levels, the members have one thing in the common – they all race the same design, the Flying Scot.
