Final defendant enters guilty plea in murder of Minnetonka student

Kalisa Chardale Smith, 29, of South St. Paul, pleaded guilty to second-degree unintentional murder for her role in the death of 16-year-old Minnetonka High School junior Samantha Burnette, who was robbed and murdered Sept. 25, 2016, in St. Paul.

Smith was originally charged with three counts, of second-degree murder, second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony and first-degree aggravated robbery. She plead guilty to the second charge and will be sentenced July 27.
