First the heat and humidity roll in, then comes a chance of storms over the weekend.
The warmest day of the summer so far is on the way Saturday with highs in the low to middle 90s. With dew points also climbing, the heat index, or “feels like” temperature will likely wind up near 100 for at least parts of Minnesota. A weak frontal boundary pushing through around dinner time brings a very slight risk of a few thunderstorms to pop up. Most of us will be under mostly sunny skies all day.
The better chance for storms sets up on Sunday. Strong morning storms are possible with some afternoon and evening redevelopment expected. Because of the rain, temperatures end up cooler than the day before with highs in the 80s.
