The Wayzata Parks and Trails Board will host the first of four Sunday Music in the Park concerts June 11, with a performance by the Luke Westermeyer Group. The musical collective is comprised of Wayzata High School graduates and students who promise “family-friendly, danceable music.”
The free music events will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. on the southeast section of Wayzata’s Klapprich Park, located at the corner of Wayzata Boulevard and Minnetonka Avenue. People are invited to set up their portable chairs on the shady hillside or spread a blanket for a picnic while enjoying the music.
The second concert on June 18 will feature Below Zero, a jazz and funk group from the MacPhail Center for Music. The final two concerts will be Aug. 6, featuring Blue Groove, a bluegrass band, and Aug. 13, featuring Ars Nova Brass Quintet from the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra.
