Wayzata High senior awarded Eagle Scout Scholarship

Scott McCullough, a senior at Wayzata High School, was recently presented with a $1,000 Eagle Scout Scholarship by the Northern Star Council Boy Scouts of America. The ceremony was March 18 at the Council Recognition Dinner at the Golden Valley Country Club.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the BSA, attained by approximately 6 percent of those who join the organization. McCullough earned the rank as a member of Troop 283, chartered to Wayzata Community Church in the Lake Minnetonka District. He was one of 25 recipients selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants completing their senior year in high school.

The scholarship program recognizes Scouts who have displayed extraordinary achievement in academics, athletics, troop leadership and overall service to their community. The program has awarded more than $490,000 in scholarships since its inception in 1990.
