Mound Westonka’s Madeline Niederer named 2017 Athena Award winner 

Mound Westonka High School is proud to name senior Madeline Niederer as the 2017 recipient of the Athena Award. Candidates for this “outstanding female athlete” award must demonstrate excellence in individual or group sports. Niederer is a three-sport White Hawks athlete, participating in tennis, hockey and lacrosse.

“Maddie Niederer is a tremendous example for our younger athletes,” said Westonka Activities Director Jeff Peterson. “Her dedication, commitment to being a good teammate and desire to excel are attributes that will suit her well in the future. We are so very proud of Maddie and her accomplishments.”

Other finalists for the 2017 MWHS Athena Award were seniors Ryann Beyer, Lila Finney, Sienna Hackbarth, Lauren Miller, Sarah Neve and Claire White.
