A large area of freezing rain is pushing northward and is expected to arrive in Minnesota this afternoon.
“The bulk of any ice accumulation will stay south of the metro along I-90 and south,” said KSTP meteorologist Josh Wurster.
But we could still see a thin glaze which could still cause problems on the roads, according to Wurster.
By this evening, the freezing drizzle could pick up in intensity and turn into a freezing rain event.
Wurster says Tuesday morning’s commute could be slow as roads could still be icy.
