The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Ellen Timmerman-Borer as its 2016 Person of the Year. A luncheon celebrating the occasion will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Wayzata Country Club, 200 W. Wayzata Blvd.
In 1982, Timmerman-Borer started her career at Hammer Residences, a Wayzata-based nonprofit that serves individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the Twin Cities, as a direct support professional. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles and today leads Hammer’s fundraising efforts as the organization’s chief development officer.
Each year, the chamber names someone person of the year, based on their active participation, support of chamber activities and contributions to the economic, civic, commercial and educational interest in or around the Wayzata area.
